Dr. John Leung graduated cum laude, and with other honors from New York University with a B.A. in Biology in 1982 . With his love for the outdoors, sports, and the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area, he made a move to Go West and attended UCSF Dental School. Skiing powder snow at Lake Tahoe, windsurfing in the SF Bay, and playing outdoor tennis are much appreciated contrasts to the traffic jams, cement jungle and winter cold of New York City.
Upon finishing his Doctor of Dental Surgery program, he was elected to the National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, of which he remains a current member.
He furthered his study in the General Practice Residency program at Mt. Zion Hospital, and the following year became the Dental Director of North East Medical Services. To improve on his administrative skills, he later completed a Master of Business Administration program at SFSU. For over a decade, he was an Assistant Clinical Professor for the post-doctoral Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at UCSF and maintained medical staff membership at UCSF and Mt. Zion Hospitals. Presently, Dr. Leung is in private practice in San Francisco and Burlingame.
